Tell couples about your experience and approach
I have been a professional event and fashion photographer for 8 years and have shot over 300 parties in the most exclusive venues in London (e.g. the Dorchester, Claridges, Manadarin Oriental Hyde Park, Grosvenor House, Bulgari Hotel and Annabel's). I am now branching out into weddings, so this is a great opportunity to get a high-end photographer while I build my wedding portfolio. To get really great results, I prefer to give some directions to the people I'm shooting and create scenes for images you will love.
Are you super chatty or will be you be a fly on the wall?
On the job, I don't chat. However, I do give directions (if required to shoot a better image) and answer questions when asked.
What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?
I would advise you to book an engagement shoot. It will make you be confident about your photographer and take some pressure off on a very busy wedding day.
What are your artistic influences?
My favourite photographer is the genius Jerry Ghionis. He is one of the best wedding photographers in the world. While the original composition is vital, expertise in the editing and retouching process is how I generate high quality professional images that suit my exclusive clients. I am also influenced by Albert Watson, Annie Leibovitz, Joel Grimes and Glyn Dewis. All these photographers are recognised for their approach in human photography and I have learned something unique from each one.
What was your favourite wedding shoot, and why?
I love to take photos of a couple straight after they have just officially got married. It's a moment when they are released from pre-wedding excitement and anxiety, becoming relaxed and happy, while at the same time overcome with the feeling that everything in their lives has changed.
What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?
There are many types of shots in a wedding. The most common type should be captured by all wedding photographers and include the couple together, the key family members and important aspects of the day, but I will also design special shots in consultation with you and your guests. This could be a portrait or a pre-designed scene, and I will co-ordinate those shots with your guests on the day.
Why should couples choose you as a photographer?
I believe that I am one of London's most exclusive event photographers, but am seeking to build a wedding portfolio. The prices quoted are significantly below market value while I build the wedding portfolio. It's a great opportunity for you to get a high end photographer at a reasonable rate.
Have you won awards or been published in magazines?
Yes, been awarded and published, but not with regards to wedding photography.
What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?
It's important that we have good communication in advance of the wedding, so I understand the types of shots you expect from me and whether you would like me to be active in co-ordinating guests for photographs, or whether you want me to stay in the background, quietly taking photos.
Which venues have you shot at?
Claridges, Grosvenor House, Bulgari Hotel, Annabel's, Landmark Hotel, The Lanesborough, London Hilton on Park Lane, One Whitehall Place, Clarence House, The Connaught Hotel, the Dorchester, Queen's Club, The Caledonian Club, Cadogan Hall, RAC (London), LSE, Manadarin Oriental Hyde Park, , The Art Club, George, Bloomsbury Big Top, The Westbury, and so on.
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
I'm a friendly and confident perfectionist with respect for the privacy and confidentiality of my clients.
