It might not sound that surprising, but I genuinely love photographing weddings in a reportage way. No two weddings are the same, you’ve spent countless hours planning everything from the cake and clothes right down to the napkin rings. If I were to come into your wedding and spend hours setting up group shots, the images wouldn’t reflect all the time and effort you put in, they wouldn’t show your wedding. They would show the people you love putting on fake smiles - I’d rather show their real smiles. For me there is nothing unique to find in the traditional style of wedding photography, there’s no truth. So I turned to the old masters of street photography for my inspiration, and that’s how I capture weddings… passionately, honestly, emotionally. A great wedding image, I think, shows genuine emotion, humour, or captures a moment unique to your wedding. I love capturing these moments, because I know you will love looking back on them. These are the things that matter, the images you will cherish for years.
