The beauty of documentary photography is that no two weddings are the same, as it doesn't rely on an A-Z of poses and setups. I shoot every wedding with fresh eyes and clear mind but always striving to get you the best pictures that will tell your story in the most beautiful way. I must have shot close to a hundred weddings in the UK and USA but I still retain that excitement the night before that manifests itself as tummy butterflies. My approach is photojournalistic - it's about documenting your wedding in the right way, whether through a series of artistic vignettes or anticipating those memorable moments. When you look back at your photos, I want you to think 'remember when this happened', not 'remember when the photographer told us to...'. Some documentary photographers don't want to do portraits. I love them. Much like the candid shots, I'll look to utilise the surroundings - architecture, furnishings, shadows, lighting, and have a little fun to create portraits that are elegant, yet natural. I'm not very good with cheesy, I'm afraid. I'd love to hear from couples who appreciate the nature of documentary photography, who uses Pinterest for ideas, not rules; and who place importance in moments and emotions. Based in Surrey and serving the UK and destinations.
