My approach centres on being unobtrusive, spontaneous and genuine. Although I can use creative direction when necessary, and I’m not afraid to holler at a bunch of groomsmen in order for some formal shots, I mostly like to capture the day unfolding subtly at a natural pace, commonly called reportage photography. Seeing people do things differently from the wedding ‘norm’ is fantastic. Themes, locations, music, food... All of this inspires and excites me. But above everything else, the weddings I really want to be photographing are the ones that really and honestly focus on the love that two people share. The best weddings aren’t necessarily the ones that have the fanciest venue, the 6-tier cake, or the designer dress; they’re the ones that truly reflect the love and individuality of the couple, and the time and effort they have put in. And to do all of that justice, I want to devote some time to get to know you, to make sure your wedding photography really captures your own individual quirks and personality.
