Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

Searching for a wedding photographer

wedding photography in London

I’m saying this as I’m assuming you’ve come here because you are looking for a wedding photographer for your wedding in 2013 or 2014. We’ve just seen a massive spike in traffic to our lovely wedding venue site - Find a Wedding Venue. And one thing we’ve learnt after 9 years on-line is that once people have found a wedding venue then finding a wedding photographer is not too far behind. Image courtesy of The Wedding Shoot

If you’ve just started to look for a photographer for your big day then you may be a bit confused about all the various styles, prices, packages and options available. The good news is that there has never been a better time to book a wedding photographer. The days of being ordered around and standing in line for hours on end only to end up with a dull set of wedding photos are long gone. The fact is that there are some incredibly talented photographers shooting weddings today and the choice of styles and options is varied. The downside is that this can make your decision harder to make. So much choice!

Fortunately we’ve added lots of great wedding photography help articles to the site so you can get up to speed with modern wedding photography. A good place to start is our guide to wedding photography styles then once you’ve used our main directory pages to find a wedding photographer and maybe set up a few meetings then our questions to ask a wedding photographer article might come in handy. If you are on a tight budget or have left it a bit late then our quote request forms are another great feature.

Remember that booking a top professional wedding photographer for your wedding will probably be the best money you spend on your wedding day! Good luck.

You know what would make great blog article for you to have on the front page of this site? One about how much you should realistically spend for a decent wedding photographer producing consistently good pictures. Something that outlines to couples that a full day of wedding photography is actually around 4 or more days of work (editting, venue reccy, meetings, wedding album organising etc). Then there additional costs of reliable, quality equipment, the training, taxes, insurance, transport. It all adds up.
I'm not a photographer that charges £3k+ a pop, but I keep getting quote requests from people who want a full day, two photographers, an album, prints, all the pictures, bells and dancing monkeys, for UNDER £750. I understand totally that people are on a budget, but that's just having a laugh.
It could also be an interesting conversation to hear about when is a photographer totally underselling themselves and undermining the baseline for fairly priced wedding photography?
