Wedding Photography Hot Shot: The Headless Bride

Paul Tansley - Stylish Wedding Photography

Hampshire wedding photography - First Dance

Wedding photographer: Paul Tansley

Photo Title: The Headless Bride

Photo details: Andrea, my Bride, really knew how to dance and was spinning all around the dance floor at her wedding. I wanted to get the feel of the movement and the fullness of her lovely wedding dress, so after shooting the obvious pics, I got down lower and watched her spin. It took a lot of frames to get one that for me is just perfect. There was no need to include her face - the image is all about the dress and her fabulous legs and those lovely shoes. It needs nothing else.  There's quite a lot of post processing to draw attention to the parts I want the eye to be drawn to. But I personally think any great image deserves great processing.

About the photographer: I'm a Surrey & Hampshire wedding photographer shooting weddings all over the South. Will travel worldwide for the right clients.

Wedding Photography Hot Shot: Fire-mans lift during fireworks

Bride and Groom fire-mans lift in front of fireworks

Photo Title: Fire-mans lift during fireworks

Photo details: Aisha + Mart during the fireworks at their wedding reception at Redhouse Barns, West Midlands. These guys were originally facing with their backs to me as they watched the fireworks. I set up a light just out of shot on the right-hand side to grab a photo of them cuddling. Then...out of totally nowhere, Mart just grabbed Aisha + threw her over his shoulder, spinning her around. He totally rocked it out with the finger point, too.

About the photographer: Hello, I’m Chris! I am a London wedding photographer creating fun images that are filled with character, energy + genuine laughter. My approach is simple: I work with my couples as actual human beings to create images that reflect their personalities – not just an artificial ‘version’ of what you both look like when you’re forced to look a certain way. That means that my work avoids ‘posing’ + instead focuses creating a ‘space’ where you, your friends + families feel that they can continue being themselves in front of the camera.

About the photographer: Hi, I am Bart and I drink too much coffee and eat spicy food, especially when I grow chillies in my garden.

Wedding Photography Hot Shot: Hello Ducky!

Wedding Photography by Jason Pierce-Williams

Bride and Groom in rowing boat

Wedding photographer: Jason Pierce-Williams

Photo Title: Hello Ducky!

Photo details: This was taken towards the end of a beautiful event with one of the most laid back, charming couples (Rachel and James - both doctors) I ever met - being one of the reasons I love this job! They suggested the boat ride in the rain so who was I to refuse. The fact that the groom clearly doesn't know one end of a skiff from the other just adds to the charm. I don't recall technical details...probably my old 180mm Manual Nikon judging from the depth of field and perspective....but it's not so important. Its one of my favourite images from this year.

About the photographer: My name is Jason Pierce-Williams and I have been studying, teaching and shooting all areas of photography for over twenty years. I'm based in SW London but have shot events and weddings all over the world, including India, Poland, Germany, Spain and Italy to name a few. My first class degree is in photography and I have taught all levels and areas of photography for many years. I have often exhibited abroad and here at The National Portrait Gallery. My wedding photography is very much like my street and portrait work....natural, simple, candid....and very observational.
